ACTIVITY AREAS (All materials provided)

A B C’S OF FIRST AID
Intro to “on the spot first aid” including “safety first”. You’ll use microscopes, blood pressure cuffs, stethoscopes & other equipment. Campers receive a mini first aid kit, learn Heimlich Maneuver and other life saving skills.

RECORDING STUDIO & SOUND DESIGN
Ever wanted to know how music is recorded with computers? You will learn how computers are used in the music industry to record and edit sound. In addition, computer programs that you can download for free to produce your own music. Come to the recording studio, the DEN, and learn about designing sound!

FLASH ANIMATION
Learn to use Macromedia Flash, you will complete an animation of your own design, download onto a disk & take home or you can put it on the web!

WEB PAGE DESIGN
Campers will learn to design a basic home page that can be uploaded to the Internet.

CULINARY ARTS
Intro to food service industry and basic food preparation. Hands-on and interactive, if you like cooking and trying new foods, this is for you!

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Does owning your own business sound like fun? Learn the basics of designing and planning a business from the ground up!! You will create a mini business and marketing plan, design the layout of your store/business, and create business cards and letterhead!

MAGICIANS IN MANUFACTURING
It’s Magic! Well not really. It’s modern manufacturing but it works like magic. In a single day, campers will invent, design, develop and produce a consumer product. Using state of the art computer and manufacturing equipment as well as a lot of ingenuity, campers will walk away with something they designed in their hand and a better understanding of the manufac-turing industry in their head.

GOT DIRT??
Experience what it is like to be a landscaper, florist or tree worker in this exciting Horticulture Course. If you’d like to learn how to make a floral arrangement, climb a tree with an arborist rope and saddle, or maintain landscape plants, then this “hands-on” class is for you! Participants should expect to be outside and bring long pants to wear.
